Kannur, Kerala: At just 15 years of age, Akshath S has become one of the young student authors from Kerala to publish a book while continuing his school education. A Class X student at Shenoy Smaraka Government Higher Secondary School (SSGHSS), Payyanur, Akshath has released his first book, When the World Went Silent, introducing readers to his interest in storytelling and literature.
Born on 4 April 2011 and raised in Ramanthali, Kannur district, Akshath has spent much of his childhood reading books and taking part in school activities. His interest in writing developed gradually and eventually led him to complete a manuscript that has now been published with ISBN 978-93-5912-671-5.
Unlike many students who wait until later in life to publish their work, Akshath decided to take the step while still in school. His book reflects the imagination and curiosity of a young writer who enjoys creating stories for readers of his own generation.
Family has played an important role in supporting his interest in books. Akshath is the son of Sasi K., a Malayalam teacher, and Dr. Ajitha A. V., a Homeopathic Medical Officer. He also shares a close bond with his elder brother, Ashish S., whose constant encouragement has remained an important source of motivation.
Teachers and family members describe him as someone who enjoys reading, writing, leadership activities and community service. Along with his academic studies, he continues to devote time to developing his skills as a writer.
Speaking about his first publication, Akshath says he hopes more children will develop the habit of reading. He believes that books help young people expand their thinking, improve communication skills and discover new ideas beyond the classroom.
