Trump Invested Up to $50,000 in Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Report Says
US President Donald Trump reportedly invested between $15,001 and $50,000 in Elon Musk’s SpaceX, creating a new financial link with a major government contractor.

US President Donald Trump reportedly invested between $15,001 and $50,000 in Elon Musk's SpaceX in June, according to a financial disclosure that has revealed a new investment connection between the president and one of the US government's most important space and military contractors.
The disclosure, reported by Reuters, showed that Trump purchased SpaceX shares on June 23. He signed the filing on August 12, and it was publicly released on August 22.
The SpaceX investment was reportedly one of more than 1,000 stock transactions made by Trump during June.
SpaceX's Record-Breaking IPO
The investment came shortly after a major milestone for SpaceX.
According to the report, SpaceX completed what was described as the largest US initial public offering on June 12, reaching a valuation of $1.77 trillion.
The company has become a major force across the commercial space, satellite and artificial intelligence sectors.
Trump's investment has drawn attention because SpaceX operates extensively as a US government contractor and relies on regulatory decisions and approvals from federal agencies.
Trump Administration Policies Could Affect SpaceX
The financial disclosure comes at a time when the Trump administration is making policy decisions that could directly influence SpaceX and the broader commercial space industry.
On Thursday, Trump directed his administration to support a sharp expansion in the number of commercial space launches in the United States.
SpaceX is already a dominant company in the commercial launch sector, making government policy in this area particularly significant for its future operations.
The company also works closely with the US military and other federal agencies, adding to scrutiny over the president's reported financial interest in the business.
