Vivian Wilson Takes Aim at AI in Desigual Fashion Campaignft
Vivian Wilson, daughter of Elon Musk, is the face of Spanish fashion brand Desigual’s Fall 2026 campaign, “Born to Disobey”. The campaign uses a malfunctioning humanoid robot to question AI’s growing role in creative industries, while Wilson has separately voiced concerns about AI replacing creative jobs.

Vivian Wilson, the 22-year-old daughter of Elon Musk, has become the face of Spanish fashion brand Desigual’s Fall 2026 campaign, using a malfunctioning humanoid robot to deliver a pointed message about artificial intelligence and human creativity.
The campaign, titled “Born to Disobey”, features Wilson interacting with a robot named DESI84. Rather than presenting the machine as an example of technological progress, the campaign places Wilson in control and uses the robot’s failures to celebrate human behaviour and imperfection.
The campaign has attracted additional attention because Wilson’s father, Elon Musk, is one of the most prominent figures in the technology industry and has invested heavily in artificial intelligence through companies including xAI.
Vivian Wilson’s robot campaign
In the campaign film, Wilson uses the robot in deliberately unconventional ways. She turns it into a golf tee, walks it on a leash and attempts to teach it to pronounce “Desigual”.
The robot repeatedly fails to respond as expected, while Wilson remains in control.
One of the campaign's central lines says, “He was designed to obey. Not me.” The film concludes with Wilson saying, “Some things aren’t meant to be fixed.”
The robot has been compared in some media coverage with Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot. However, neither Wilson nor Desigual has said that DESI84 is intended to represent Musk, Tesla or Optimus.
The campaign instead uses the robot as a broader symbol of the tension between technology and human individuality.
Wilson raises concerns about AI and creative work
Wilson has also explained her concerns about artificial intelligence and why she agreed to participate in the campaign.
