Apple Cuts More Than 200 Jobs as AI and Smart Glasses Take Priority
Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs across Siri, AI and Vision Pro teams as the company shifts resources toward artificial intelligence, smart glasses and future devices.

Apple is cutting more than 200 jobs across its Siri, artificial intelligence and Vision Pro teams as the technology giant reshapes its product strategy around AI and future devices.
The restructuring comes as Apple redirects resources away from some Vision Pro projects and increases its focus on next-generation products, including smart glasses and a more advanced version of Siri.
According to people familiar with the changes cited by Bloomberg, around 100 positions are being eliminated across Siri and related software teams, while another 100 jobs are being cut within the Vision Pro organisation.
Apple reorganises Siri and AI teams
The latest cuts are part of a broader restructuring of Apple's Intelligent Systems Experience team, which is responsible for developing AI-powered features across the company's products.
Apple is also working on a new AI-focused version of Siri based on a redesigned technical architecture. The transition is expected to eliminate some existing roles while creating new positions aimed at supporting the company's updated AI strategy.
The changes underline the growing importance of artificial intelligence in Apple's product roadmap as the company seeks to strengthen its position in an increasingly competitive AI market.
Vision Pro gaming team faces major cuts
Apple is also significantly reducing its investment in certain Vision Pro initiatives.
The company is reportedly shutting down much of a team dedicated to gaming on the Vision Pro headset while reducing the size of the group responsible for producing immersive video content.
Apple has indicated that the Vision Pro and its visionOS operating system remain part of its product portfolio. However, the latest restructuring suggests that the company is reassessing where resources should be concentrated based on how consumers are using the headset.
Apple said it was realigning teams to evolve its business and deliver better experiences for users, while noting that new roles would also be created.
